Mario Wild West

I did this for my brother's birthday card.

It's a bit of an in-joke really. I'll explain...

When we were little, my brother, Billy, made an animation on Mario Paint. He must have been about 9 years old. It was an ultra violent wild west scene - an endless loop of a cowboy kicking and shooting a native American. There was also a fella endlessly gozzing on him through a window. If you ever used Mario Paint, you'll know it was a very jolly art program aimed at kids. Billy made some music on it to go with the x-rated cartoon, but it was pretty much impossible to compose anything with it that wasn't wacky and upbeat. The result was a jarring combination of brutal combat to the tune of a zany kid's cartoon.

My dad saw the animation and pretty much hated it.

I thought I'd recreate it for him in the form of an illustration.


Sorry it's been such a long time since my last submission. I'm beginning work on a new indie game tomorrow, so there will be more art from me here soon. There is also a painting that I am putting the finishing touches to.
